All these relationships between women, I thought, rapidly recalling the splendid gallery of fictitious women, are too simple. So much has been left out, unattempted. And I tried to remember any case in the course of my reading where two women are represented as friends. But almost without exception they are shown in their relation to men. It was strange to think that all the great women of fiction were, until Jane Austen’s day, not only seen by the other sex, but seen only in relation to the other sex.

mezzoahoi asked: Do you watch 'The Honourable Woman'? If you do, what do you think about it? We do seem to like a lot of the same stuff, don't we ; )

sangfroidwoolf:

I do indeed! Just watched episode six and HOLY SHIT can the writers pile anymore shit onto Nessa’s storyline. I feel like hugging her every time she’s on screen. And yes, we certainly seem to, don’t we?

Yeah, I just want Nessa to catch a brake. I’m so curious about how things are going to end, only two episodes left… Quality TV if you ask me.
